I chose the substitute teacher form and edit it to fit my dance classes schedules. Usually substitutes get into Dance classes and since they don't have instruction the allow it to be more of a free day instead of a workday. This just outlines everything the sub could possibly need so that we stay on track in our lessons. Too often substitutes don't know what to do with most dance rooms. In fact they can often be intimidated and think " I cant dance so I'm going to sit here and do nothing but watch the kids." . Having this note also can direct the substitute to the folder designed strictly for subs. Inside this folder is a bunch of activities that are more like reading and answering questions vs. having a full on dance class.
Another great thing is that the main people to contact in the worst case scenario is all outlined for the sub . As well as behavior expectations since the rules are up on the mirrors . We all know how our high school students like to act when the teacher is away!! This way the substitute understands exactly what I expect of the students and she/he can contact the principle if needed.
The class schedule is also another great thing for the teacher since he/she may be foreign to how the schedule works at the school they are placed in. This also prevents the substitute from letting kids out of class too early in the event that the student tries. I have seen students argue that they were supposed to get out 5 minutes before they are supposed to. This prevents any chance of that happening.

Dear substitute,
Thank you for taking my class in my absence. Please take attendance
and let me know who was absent. If you would, please also leave me a note
telling me how things went, who was most helpful, and what the class
accomplished. The following information will help you navigate the day, which I
hope goes well!
Sincerely, Ms.Pulley

Blog Activity 2 : Locating Teacher Resources.
I would use Clickers in classrooms as more of a review system for my students. We could split into teams and play a review game using the clickers. This way the students are reviewing for a test but not having to write out a review and answer questions, unless they wanted to. Rewards for the students can be extra credit points!! This would give the students a little more incentive to actually answer the questions. In this role the teacher is more like a facilitator, since I would not be lecturing to the class. Instead the answers would be coming off of the screen. Even though I may have created the questions for my content area I wouldn't be the only thing teaching them.
The second thing I would really use in my class room would be teaching with tablet computers/online projects. With dance There is a huge amount that I could do with recording dances , editing music, researching about multiple dances form different countries ect. There is even an app I have get on the tablets the slows down dance steps so the students can analyze them. Once again endless opportunities on projects using the tablets. Teaching students to cut music using specific programs can come in handy in the future for projects.
